Now there's something you don't see everyday


Everytime I see these photos, only one thing comes to mind: Ghostbusters

These pictures aren't date stamped, and all I can say is they were likely shot between '74 and '76 in the Havelock yard.












Is this some sort of scale house? Please leave a comment if you have any information. I need to investigate.

  1. WOW those are B-L-U-E covered hoppers, right down to the trucks! Tee hee!

    The shack sure does look like a weigh station structure, as covered hoppers were weighed, and the track immediately in front appears to be constructed differently - look at the absence of spike heads and thicker ties.

    1. You're right the track is different. I sometimes think that if models of those cars were sold by Tyco, Life-Like or Bachmann in the '70s people might not believe they were based on a prototype. They're in pristine condition and, as you say, seriously blue.
