For example, there are 4 different types of fences, all deliberately selected. I figured there needed to be a fence to separate the streetcar loop from the rest of the park. An old fashioned good neighbour fence was used for most of the span, but it seemed that a more utilitarian pipe fence was needed at the passenger boarding area. Then the residences along Mortimer Avenue whose backyards abut the park need their own fences to mark off their properties, but they also need to reflect the idiosyncrasies of their owners and eras when the buildings were constructed.
