A side-by-side comparison of E. L. Moore's two churches

All: left, model J.R. Fisher collection; right, image courtesy James L Dixon.

Now that there are examples of both churches from ELM's lost article, The little church on the hill, I thought I'd post a side-by-side comparison of both.

Pictures of the white, clapboard sided church can be found here, and photos of the log church are here.

When I was putting these pictures together I started to get a sense that the white church wasn't the one that appeared in the article, but like the log church, was a duplicate.

The size and shape of the bell tower and chimney seem to be off. I can't say for certain because the article has only 1 angled view of the white church, and nothing else to make a comparison against.

When ELM made the duplicate log church in 1968, he could have easily made one of the white one at the same time. However, the white church has no markings on the bottom to either confirm or deny this speculation.

Whether or not it's a duplicate seems irrelevant after all these years. It's just good that it has survived.
