Progress is slow, but steady. Most of the recent work isn’t very photogenic: figuring out DCC and getting the various locos to operate, adding street overlays, adding a program track and fixing the ‘two-ness’ of the track plan, beginning to add the wild grass areas, and many other odds-ands-ends associated with just building. Things are also slow because I don’t have a master plan for the scenery and operations. I spend a lot of time just looking at things and trying out ideas. Fun, but slow.
Your progress is looking really good! I know what you mean about those periods where it feels like nothing 'significant' is happening, yet your in a place where you can 'see' opportunities for changing things to add interest, etc...
ReplyDeleteThe top photo on this post is really cool. The originality of the trolley/tram stop is excellent (yet very 'prototypical' for modern tram stops!).
Thanks. I based the station on a Japanese prototype (http://30squaresofontario.blogspot.com/search/label/Scarboro%20Square%20Station), but I simplified it a lot in order to use some materials I had on hand, and fit it into a much smaller space. There are times when I think I'll go back and try building a second version because I like all variations in curved shapes on the prototype and I'd like to capture them better.
