Scenes from a lost model railway: The Lost Ocean Line, 2011 - 2017
"A man's work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened." - Albert Camus
The Noir? I’m there! I liked seeing the Pan Am logo — I worked in the Pan Am Building (now the MetLife Building) in the summer of 1980 as a legal proofreader.
The Noir, or more accurately, Thé Noir, meaning Black Tea in french. It's the french label from an old box of tea. I cut it of the box and used it as it sounded good in both English and French, and I thought the lettering looked good on the building. I bought that Pan Am boxcar only because I liked its graphics. It makes no sense on the layout, but I like to look at it. And I love that Pan Am Building - you were lucky to work there.
Me too. I've watched the video a few times and Thé Noir does seem to appear a lot. I must have some unconscious fixation on the place :-) But, that doesn't seem like a bad thing.

DeleteAh, I overlooked the accent. But if it’s Black Tea, I’m there too.
