Track still works
I was spending so much time working on the mountain I started to get concerned that the track might be in bad shape, so I took the trolley out for a spin. Luckily, things are still running.
And I see you painted the fascia as well. Nice. I was especially interested to see it running from so many different angles, and to get the "where will it pop out next" effect! Super!
Thanks Galen. I'm not sure I'd call it fascia, as it's just the raw foam I used to build up the sides, but it does fulfill the role of fascia. I'm finding when I build a layout I get to a stage where there are too many conflicting colours: pink, white, grey, along with markings from pens. The colour disharmony stops me from understanding what I'm looking at. Priming the mountain with white gesso and painting the sides black calms the whole thing down and the shapes are more understandable to me. This has helped me shape the Granite Gate - not shown in the video - and do some rethinking about that area. I thought I'd have all this mountain shaping done by now, but I keep seeing things I want to improve.
